it was a good gig but a think London kicked its ass by far, there was a lot more mosh pits mind u, lol lot more rowdy people just some were a bit too rowdy, a mean a got a pint thrown in my face for no reason, punched in the face and called all sorts ( slags tarts etc .. ) with a man older than my own dad and he actually ended up fightin with my pal , tbh he was being a total prick and they say the english is arrogant well when a was in london to see the pistols the people couldnt have been any nicer to me i was here amongst my own and got nothin but hassle but a apart from that shit happenin i had a good time but brixton was the one i will have most memorys of |

Here is my review of the Glasgow gig:
Sex Pistols, Glasgow SECC 18/11/07
This was the final gig of this tour. The DJ was getting loads of well-deserved abuse and stuff chucked at him for playing that wanked off drum n bass shite. The signature tune for their entry tonight was not There’ll Always Be An England, and was sensible changed to I Belong To Glasgow, with the crowd singing and swaying along to it. About the only decent thing the DJ did all night. The band walked on stage, and the Hampden Roar from yesterday’s Scotland v Italy fixture was immediately transferred across the banks of the River Clyde, and indoors to the SECC.
“You wuz robbed…Them bloody Eyeties, again!” commented Rotten, in almost genuine sympathy for Saturday’s result, as you can see on this clip, http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_4dz1vNEoFs, they cracked off once again with Pretty Vacant, followed by Seventeen. The massive hall erupted into a fury of tartan terror. Bodies going in all directions from the mosh-pit to the back and the sides of the huge hall. As the crowd roared again, Rotten said “You put Manchester and London to shame.”
They continued with, in no particular order, Did You No Wrong, No Feelings, Problems, New York, and Holidays In The Sun, with Rotten once again getting the crowd clapping along to “I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside”, as if he was on Brighton beach in the Summer. Stepping Stone was dedicated to all politicians. Submission, http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=BWvbbAuLqyQ Satellite and EMI http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=FOwsPuAe2A8 were all in there, somewhere along the line, but I don’t go to gigs to write notes. They dedicated Liar to Malcolm, as you can watch here: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=zv8OO6iKOyc.
I saw a bit of bother there, with a few people getting dragged out. One bloke had crowdsurfed a bit over the barriers, and was too pissed to walk along the side of the pit, and when the bouncers tried to steady him, he tried to fight em all off, until a really big un came and just chucked him out.
The eight-postage-stamp-posters-on-a-backdrop came down, again, and that was the cue for God Save The Queen, as you can watch here: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=_Wz8oA5DEis . After a brief pause, it was back on stage for Anarchy In The UK, seen here: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=doV1wIjtrcI, and Bodies http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=6BAgIflxh5o . They retired back to the wings, before returning to do another drawn out version of Road Runner, here http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3_2oyNtUOY8 .
Many are wondering if they’ll do any more next year, now they’ve smelled the ££££. It must have been great to be a Glasgow copper (especially one of Italian stock), this weekend. Getting duties at Hampden Park on Saturday, followed by Sunday night seeing the Pistols at the SECC. All this and £££ as well. Some lucky people get all the best jobs. Finally, thanks to GordonBlue, skamonkey1, and B0BBYBH0Y for their clips. |
